It was 64 years ago on June 6, 1953 that Cooperative Teachers Credit Union founders established what we know today as CTCU. Originally, the founders met in at Tyler High School and agreed on the simple principle of teachers helping teachers. They pooled their money together to help each other buy land, supplies for the classroom, and more!
This year, we celebrated with the theme of “When I’m 64” by turning our branch into a yellow submarine and giving a groovy nod to the Beatles and all things from the 1960’s.
In the 64 years that CTCU has been in East Texas, we have grown in membership, assets, and offerings. We know offer banking services to seven surrounding counties and have opened our membership field to more than just teachers.
